Prom Preps

These nice guys delivered a truck load of wood. This guy was an unwelcome visitor.
He ended up getting killed -- sort of..

After having his neck squashed and his head practically removed from his body, the older gentleman picked this snake up and threw him in the back of the truck. As we were chatting before they left, the snake started slithering around in the back of the truck! Thank goodness, they took it with them when they left.

Shivers... I HATE snakes!

Money Money Money

Mike traded this.... for this....
The raffle is over. After all was said and done, Mike ended up getting $3700 for it. Not bad.

The Burning

Mike's having the prom after-party at our house next weekend and planned to hang out in the yard, with a fire in the fire pit. There was a pile of brush there already, and we decided the safe thing to do would be to go ahead and burn it all today. This way, they will have a small, low, controlled fire with less danger of it spreading. Bill was nervous. This is the burning we did today.

Mother's Day!

Since it was Mother's Day, my kids allowed me to make them pose while I took pictures of them.

Then we purchased and planted flowers. We planted 4 pots of Impatiens like this one.
Sam got me some new chairs. My last ones just went to the dump last week. We potted the flowers between the chairs, too.
We put begonias between the tree roots. The broken pots just looked kind of cool, we thought.
Sam thought my little herb garden needed a dash of color.
Bill got me a bird feeder. I can see this branch from my kitchen window, so we put it there.
Mike took me to the movies to see Spiderman 3, and bought me snacks. Then we went to buy some flowers, where Sam met up with us. They helped pick out flowers and when we went to check out, Mike, so smoothly, told me he gone there the day before and paid for me so I had a credit there! Thoughtful boy... We took the plants home, and I took all the pictures of them posing for me because Mike had to be at work at 5:00. After he left, Sam and I potted and planted, ran out of soil and went to get some more, then planted the rest. She stayed a couple of hours after that, and then she left. Oh! She got me the cutest little mini-flower pots, too. They're for seeds, so I need to get something to seed. Overall, a really nice Mother's Day!!
