We traveled to Greensboro to see Evil Dead the Musical on Halloween night. Mike had gotten us some tickets, but unfortunately Sam had to work. Bill and I went, though, and stayed here - the the Biltmore in Greensboro. No relation to THE Biltmore in Asheville.
Here's the lobby. They had wine and cheese tasting at 6 but we missed out. Darnit.
The room was tiny but nice. The hotel was founded in the late 1800's. I guess back then they just needed small rooms.
Then we went to meet Mike to see the show. It was in Brown Auditorium, part of the Aycock Theater complex at UNCG. The theater was entirely draped in plastic. Walls and floors protected. No cameras were allowed during the show but here it is before it started.
The set. If you aren't familiar with this show, go here. The songs are just incredible. The show was hilarious and the acting and singing were really really good. The site I linked above has some of the music. My favorites were "What the f%k was that?" and "The Necronomicon". Great stuff.
Blood from the show splatters on the audience. Gobs of blood. I think we got bloodier than anyone and I somehow feel Mike planned it that way, choosing our seats accordingly. They sold ponchos if that tells you anything.
We went across the street and ate subs at Jimmy John's. Great bread, by the way...
Mike had places to go and things to do, so Bill and I showered and then ventured out into Greensboro. We quickly scurried back to a safe zone. Greensboro is a little intimidating at night! We had a great time. Thanks Mike!
