So it was finally time to burn all the detritus that had accumulated in our fire pit. The Christmas tree was still in there! Frankly, I wondered what all kind of critters would come scooting out once we set the pile ablaze. Here's Samantha and Gavin - the "before".
It started pretty fast and burned furiously for a while. This is Gavin in front of it.
That's Travis over to the right, tending the fire with a rake:)

Gavin liked the leaves too! He was buried.
Nice fire. No s'mores. No hot dogs. Bummer. We did eat steaks, though, and had a nice evening.
